A Mini or Short Scar Face Lift is a medical procedure that includes less skin removal and draping of the skin than a Full SMAS Face Lift and is known as a short scar, or S-Lift procedure.
The mini facelift pulls skin up much less than the full facelift and requires less recovery as a result.
Designed to lift the lower face, jowls, jawline and upper neck, a Mini Face Lift differs from a Full Face Lift in the placement of the incisions, and therefore the scars. The incisions are made in and around your natural ear curves and sometimes into the hairline behind the ear. Once healed, they are difficult to see.
The procedure is performed with the patient under light anaesthesia and delivers quick recovery after the operation (around 14 days recovery compared to around 3 to 5 weeks for a Full Face Lift).
With over 20 years of outstanding Plastic Surgery experience, Eden Institute’s Dr Mark Edinburg is committed to tailoring your Mini Face Lift procedure to your individual needs, and to ensuring your results look natural, with minimal scarring.
It is easy to give different procedures different names, like Face Lift, or mini-Face Lift. However, in the end, it is not the title of the surgery that makes the difference. The skill lies in the surgeon’s expertise and ability to modify procedures and tailor them according to each patient’s requirements and needs. So, Dr Edinburg will assess, and together with you, discuss realistic options for your situation. It is no use performing surgery that does not adequately address your facial needs. Similarly, Dr Edinburg will never recommend an option that you do not need. For example, some patients will require eyelid reduction surgery, to a greater or lesser extent with their face-lift. Some patients may require a neck-lift, and the degree of these may vary as well.
Your surgery will be personalised by Dr Edinburg, so that you have only the best enhancement procedure for your needs. If you feel you require a rejuvenated mid-face and brow area, you may want to consider an SMAS Face Lift, Eyelid Rejuvenation and Brow Lift. Dr Edinburg will work with you to tailor your Mini Face Lift to meet your individual needs. There are a number of options available, and Dr Edinburg will work with you to offer you the best combination available for your facial concerns.
A Mini Face Lift procedure usually takes around 3 hours.
Swelling and bruising will settle within 1 to 3 weeks, with the best results seen in 1 to 2 months. Most scarring will refine over the next year.
An Eden Institute Mini Face Lift or Short Scar Face Lift aims to give you that ‘just returned from holidays’ look, so instead of realising you have had a facelift, people may instead notice how refreshed and well you look.
Whilst we continue to age after we have had surgery, the improvement you get from your Mini Face Lift lasts for a lifetime.
Cost will depend on the method and extent of the Mini Face Lift but may range from $6,000 (surgeon’s fee). Once Dr Edinburg has had the opportunity to meet with you and discuss your concerns, we will supply a full estimate of fees for your proposed surgery, so that you know all your facts and figures - medical and financial - before you make your decision.
