A Neck Lift procedure can incorporate tightening of loose, sagging skin and muscles in conjunction with Liposuction, Liposculpture or Fat Transfer. Incisions are made in the fold under the chin and behind the ear, so scarring is hidden as well as possible. Excess fat may be removed by liposuction if required and underlying muscles are tightened and secured with stitches. Skin is tightened and joined together for a smoother neck profile.

After a Neck Lift, you may have to wear a chin strap for around a week for support and to assist healing. After this, stitches are removed and most people can return to work.Most swelling and bruising resolves in about 4 weeks, when your new neckline will be visible.

Dr Edinburg may recommend combining a Neck Lift or Neck Liposuction with a Face Lift or non-surgical skin rejuvenation, such as laser resurfacing to smooth out wrinkles in and remove brown age spots for optimum results to your neck, jawline and skin.

How long does a Neck Lift take?

Depending on your needs and the procedure required, a surgical necklift takes 1 to 3 hours under general anaesthetic, with a day or overnight stay. Depending on the patient, it may be performed at the Eden Institute practice in Baulkham Hills.
