Facelift (Rhytidectomy)

Dr Edinburg specialises in several tightening procedures including the famous SMAS procedure. This includes tightening the deeper layers under the skin. As minimal stretching is placed on the skin in this procedure the skin will return to full recovery in a shorter period of time. Other complimentary cosmetic treatments and procedures such as neck-lift, brow-lift, eyelift, nasolabial fold resection (these are the lines that run vertically from the side of the nose to the side of the mouth). Other treatments include lip enhancement, liposuction, fat transfer, chin augmentation and rhinoplasty (nose reconstruction) can also be performed at the same time as a face-lifting procedure. A long-term plan of maintenance and care of your skin will also be recommended to support your long-term benefits.

The procedure usually in 3-5 hours with patients required to stay in hospital for 1-2 days. Recovery takes up to 2 weeks for swelling and bruising to settle.
