Arm Lift Surgery

The Eden Institute offers Arm Lift Surgery to address sagging skin, remove stubborn fat and to create smoother, tighter upper arm contours and improved skin texture.

Arm Lift Surgery Sydney (Brachioplasty)

At the Eden Institute of Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery our team often sees clients who have lost a significant amount of weight and whose skin on the upper arms has started to sag.

Sagging of the skin of the upper arms may be due to ageing, particularly if one is untoned. However, sagging skin is not the only problem – many women complain that they have fat deposition their upper arms that will not shift, no matter what they do. These are often referred to as 'tuckshop arms'.

The excess fat and loose skin associated with flabby arms can cause the arms to chafe against the body and can also make wearing some clothes difficult. Many women feel that ‘tuckshop arms’ look unsightly and they can damage a woman’s self-esteem. In addition, they can make women feel consigned to forever wearing long-sleeved tops and dresses. If you are affected by any of these problems, the Eden Institute can help.

People who have lost a lot of weight or had weight loss procedures, such as Gastric Bypass or Bariatric Surgery, often have loose, hanging skin on the arms. Arm Lift Surgery can help to restore confidence to someone who has lost a significant amount of weight, and help them to complete their journey to a new refreshed-looking ‘you’.

In these cases, Dr Edinburg will recommend an Arm Lift, which can help to restore a more youthful streamlined contour to the arms. This procedure may be combined with Tummy Tuck Surgery, or Liposuction.

Depending on the case, Dr Edinburg will make the incision along the inner arm from the armpit to just below the elbow, or along the back of the arm, so the scar is concealed when the arms are beside the body. Sometimes a smaller incision is made in the armpit.

As with all our surgery, this is a highly individual treatment. No two patients ever present with the same arms and the same requirements, so the surgery is never quite the same either. That is why a consultation with Dr Edinburg is so essential. At that time, he will work out with you how best to address your concerns, using the most appropriate options and methods for you.
