Mini facelift surgery in Sydney with Dr Edinburg is done under a general anaesthetic in hospital and, for your comfort and care, generally involves an overnight stay. Dr Edinburg also employs highly experienced and specialised practice nurses and patient support staff to guide and support you throughout your journey with us. Facelift surgery, therefore, involves a variety of components including other medical professionals both in and out of the hospital environment, hospital theatre facilities and hospital accommodation, all of which affect the overall cost of the procedure. Rest assured, though, that Dr Edinburg will never compromise on the many factors involved in determining your costs.
There are two types of facelift surgery – a “mini facelift” or a full “SMAS” facelift (with necklift):
A mini facelift, or short-scar facelift, does not incorporate the all-important SMAS (superficial musculoaponeurotic system) layer beneath the skin and is, as a general guide, most appropriate for younger patients just starting to experience facial draping concerns. The SMAS layer is responsible for the facial ‘sagging’ that the vast majority of patients experience as a result of aging. Commonly, most patients need a full SMAS facelift, not a mini facelift, to achieve the long-lasting results they desire.
