What is Rhinoplasty?
Nose Job Surgery (also known as Nose Shaping or Rhinoplasty) is an operation performed on the nose with the goals of improving the appearance of facial symmetry and creating balanced features. Nose Shaping Surgery can also be performed to remove deviations that may have been caused by birth defect, injury or breathing obstruction.
As the central feature of your face, your nose plays a pivotal role in your appearance and self-esteem. Nose Shaping Surgery changes the size or shape of your nose, restoring proportion to the rest of your face. It can truly transform your appearance and restore your self-confidence. Best of all, Nose Job Surgery is not usually painful and does not leave visible scars.

Rhinoplasty Revision is performed to correct an unwanted outcome from a previous Nose Shaping Surgery. With over 20 years of outstanding plastic surgery experience and over 1000 Rhinoplasty surgeries performed, Dr Edinburg is a favoured plastic surgeon for Rhinoplasty Revision.
During Nose Shaping Surgery, incisions are usually made inside the nose or between the nostrils. To reduce nose size, some cartilage in the middle of the nose (septum) is removed until the desired size is achieved. To build up the nose, cartilage and bone may be added to increase its size. Changing the tip or bridge, and the nose angle is achieved by reshaping the cartilage and soft tissue. Nostril span is narrowed via small incisions at the base of each nostril.
After the procedure, some packing may be fitted inside your nose, and you may also have a splint on the outside to support the nose during initial healing. You may experience bruising and swelling around the eyes, but this should ease off in around a week, and you should be ready to resume normal activities by then. Your new nose shape will refine over the next few months, as the swelling settles.

Rhinoplasty is a plastic surgery procedure designed to improve the appearance of your nose, either through reshaping or resizing. Septoplasty(also known as deviated septum) is a corrective surgery designed to help straighten the nasal septum. The nasal septum is the bridge that separates the two nostrils, i.e. the left and right airways, internally. Often patients with a deviated septum suffer from breathing issues and hence opt for Septoplasty to correct the nasal blockage. Both procedures can be done at the same time, however an assessment with Dr Edinburg will enable us to determine which option is right for you.
Dr Edinburg will make sure your breathing is not affected by your Nose Job Surgery. In fact, many people experience an improvement in their breathing.
